How to Install IPTV on an LG Smart TV

LG Smart TVs use the same MAC-address setup method as Samsung, just through LG's Content Store instead of Samsung's Smart Hub — webOS doesn't allow sideloaded Android apps either, so a MAC-based player like Smart IPTV or IBO Player Pro is the standard approach.

What you need

• An LG Smart TV running webOS, connected to Wi-Fi.
• An active IPTV subscription with an M3U playlist link.

Step-by-step setup

1. Open the LG Content Store and search for "Smart IPTV" or "IBO Player Pro". Install it.
2. Open the app — it displays a MAC address on screen specific to that app installation.
3. Send that MAC address to your provider along with your playlist details.
4. Wait for your provider to confirm the playlist has been linked, then restart the app.
5. Your channel list should load automatically — no further configuration needed.

LG-specific notes

Older LG webOS versions (webOS 3.x and earlier) sometimes carry an outdated version of Smart IPTV with a smaller EPG buffer — if your program guide looks incomplete, check for a webOS software update first under Settings → General → About This TV → Check for Updates.
